I'd give this a 10, but he NEEDS huge round crazy-eyes!

He looks more happy than excited.

jouste responds:

haha fair enough!

good call, i wanted to make him both happy and excited, but i see what you mean.

thansk for stopping by dude!

Damn your fast.

This has just enough of Dan's influence with just enough of your style in it to make a great piece of early fan art. Nice texture on the jacket too.

(Also, did you see the mustache character option in the trailer? I's so going to rock that whenever this comes out.)

jouste responds:

oh man i just watched it again to see what you were mentioning there. soooo awesome! thanks for commenting on the combination of artwork, dan paladin id my favorite game artist out there so it's really flattering to say i can represent him pretty well.

thanks for the high score pal! good to hear from you again! ;D

Whenever I catch a baby starring at me, I always get in a unnecessarily serious starring contest that I usually win.

So either I'm ugly, or I'm awesome at starring contests.

Sabtastic responds:

Haha. I've also heard from a friend that babies like to mimmic facial expressions - maybe that's what they were doing. :P

Is it just me, or have your colors gotten way better recently? (not that there was anything wrong with them before :P)

jouste responds:

haha!

hey thanks for noticing! i've been trying hard to get my colors up to snuff recently, i'm glad you saw it! a ten!? sweeet! ;D

Well well

These are some great concepts here. Love the color choice.

Only suggestions I would make would be to make the woman a little taller than the kid, and maybe make some of the gears on the big guy more functional instead of ornamental.

Other than that, this is some great steam punk. :D

VorRath responds:

Thanks for the suggestions! The kid is actually wearing rollerskates, so he is actually like a foot shorter.
And as the gears go, I completely agree. When I have time to put these into colour, I hope to make sense of those gears.

Not bad for my first foray into the world of Steampunk.

Artsy.

I really like the ideas you have here, but they're a little conflicting. I think separately these 3 subjects could have been really strong. Especially the lion on the right.

But whatever, you have really great painting skills and lovely concepts.

sucho responds:

you mean the top right lion? i uploaded that separately in the one directly before this. yea, i'm not sure how far to go to detail a background, its either too much or too lacking.

Nice

I see you're stepping outside of the normal stuff here, it looks good. It still looks like your style but it's not as...wrinkly?

UnderARock responds:

good catch, I think Im done with the wrinklyness

Grungy

I've seen a lot of people try to draw realistic tank men and I've got to say this is probably the best looking one yet.

Also, I think this one of the your pictures where you're dark filter really improves the tone of the image.

dommi-fresh responds:

cheers kap'n thats groovy glad you like it!

It's pronounced Kar (as in those things you drive) - Mel (as in that guy who doesn't like Jews.) I made a new account for the art portal... (I have no problems with Jews.)
